Biography

Zheng Tian is a postdoctoral scholar at the Northeast Regional Center For Rural Development, Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education, the Pennsylvania State University. I obtained the Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University in 2014 and the degrees of BA and MA in Economics from Peking University in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Before working at Penn State, I had worked for the International School of Economics and Management in the Capital University of Economics and Business, Beijing, China, from 2014 to 2017.

My research interests include regional economics, agricultural economics, applied (spatial) econometrics, and the input-output model. Specifically, my current research covers five main topics: rural firm innovation, sustainability and viability of family farms, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food insufficiency, new measurement of industry clusters, and the integrated input-output and spatial econometric model.
